What a wonderful guy. He was the postie with the mostie when he delivered mail to us in ’67 and always looked forward to his arrival and friendly comment. Sadly missed, my condolences to Ben and family.

So very sad to hear the news of John’s passing. John was a long time employee of Australia Post working all his life at Batemans Bay Post Office, even delivering telegrams after school. The customers all loved John at the PO, a lot would queue up just to be served by him. He was the greatest of help to me when I started working there in the 80’s, we had a lot of fun & laughs in those days. John had a lot of health problems in the last few years & if lucky enough to run into him down town he carried on with a great smile & you would never hear him complain once. To Megan & Ben— you have 1 great Dad who has now gone to join his darling Kath, cherish all the memories that will live on forever in your hearts 💕 xx

Very sorry to find out that Jack has moved on. I also remember him at his second job – as a very polite and capable waiter. Immaculately brought up by his very proud parents. Another local Icon now gone.
