Big Red Barron was my work colleague and friend for 13 years. We shared many hours together in work mostly and conducted 5 trips escorting 50 students to Stewart House by coach for a holiday of a lifetime. It was there I noticed Stephen’s great gift in working with kids. Big Red had a Big Heart and I am truly blessed to have worked alongside him. I rang him from Darwin the night his beloved Cronulla Sharks won the 2016 Grand Final. He was retired then but he kept on saying to me many times he would like to see his beloved Sharkies win a Grand Final before he drops off his perch. I think the big fella cried not because his sharkies won but because I remembered our conversation of this dream becoming a reality. Our lives will not be measured by the duration of our years but moreso in the donation we make to one another. We will miss you Big Red and we will never forget you my brother and friend. RIP Stephen.
